*The Elves*
I love elves okay!
They are nearly immortal, use magic like its a child's plaything, wield swords better than any other race, and they have pointed ears :) . HEY, I like the pointed ear thing.
Sorry :P I sometimes go off onto tangents when it comes to elves.
There are multiple races of elves in the realms of fantasy, some of which are good, others that are "not-so-nice" (i.e. the Dark Elves). All the elven races are proficient in the use of magic and weapondry, whatever they set they mind to they master eventually. In all of fantasy there is no more graceful race than those of the elven-kin. In ancient England the elves were believed to hold sway over nature and the elements themselves. The Celts divided the elves, called fae by them, into two courts: the seelie (light) court, and the unseelie (dark) court. The french Shidhe, also elves, rode dragons in the sky at night, searching for mortals to play mind games with.
No matter what the nationality of the elves they are always described as angelic and beautiful. Most cultures give them angular faces, tilted and cat-silt eyes, either blonde or black hair, and make them slender and dainty. There height tends to go to the extremes depending on the culture, the English made them shorter (between 4' and 4'5") and the Germans made them tall (between 6' and 7'). But all cultures believe them to be the most beautiful of nature's races.
